David Blomberg (1874-1962) was employed at the department store NK, where he started NK's furniture department in 1902 and became its first department manager. He also designed the company's logo, the combined letters N and K that can be seen on paper bags and the NK clock in Stockholm. In 1917, he established his own interior design company in NK's old department store at Stureplan and later moved to Kungsgatan 35 in Stockholm. He started David Blombergs Verkstads AB in 1932 but changed its name in 1841 to Sala möbelfabriks AB. D.B. was the CEO, and his son Curt worked as an interior architect. He participated in furniture exhibitions in London, St. Petersburg, Paris, Cologne, and Barcelona.
