Westnofa

The name Westnofa comes from WEST NOrway FActories. It was a collaboration between leading manufacturing companies to facilitate the export of locally made furniture. These are a pair of high back and neck cushion model armchairs. The armchair was designed in 1964 and went into production in 1966. It is a Norwegian classic and the equivalent of our Lamino by Yngve Ekström. In 1965, it won the Bransjerådets first prize in a competition for new furniture, and in 1967, it won the Norwegian Design Award. For the armchairs, we also have a matching table in bentwood and smoked glass designed by Sigurd Ressel for Vatne Möbler. Literature: Norske design møbler 1940-1975. Mats Linder.
